Smart Tech Energy Solutions was invited to Creighton Dairy Farm in KwaZulu Natal to engage with the client regarding their operational energy challenges and long-term sustainability goals. After a series of consultations to better understand the farm’s requirements, a customised solar solution was developed. The client has since commended the system for its efficiency and the positive impact it has had on daily operations.
project overview
This installation involved the deployment of a high-capacity, grid-tied solar energy system designed to reduce reliance on conventional power while supporting the intensive energy needs of dairy farming operations.
By utilising the cattle cover roofing for panel mounting, the system maximises space efficiency and provides a dual-purpose structure that enhances both energy output and farm functionality.

Creighton Dairy Farm
The Creighton Dairy Farm Solar Installation comprises an 81.36 kWp solar PV array coupled with a 110 kW grid-tied inverter system interconnected into a 250KW PCS Solution. The panels are strategically mounted on the cattle cover roofing, optimising exposure to solar radiation while integrating seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
This design ensures reliable, renewable energy generation that directly offsets the farm’s grid consumption, lowers operational costs, and supports the client’s sustainability objectives.
